How it works
What is the update loop?
The update loop is the ongoing maintenance cycle for themes.
It shows which themes were recently updated, which theme is currently being worked on, and which themes are expected to be reviewed next.
Is this a roadmap?
No — the update loop is not a roadmap.
It does not promise specific features, dates, or release scopes. The order may change when priorities shift, Ghost updates land, or theme-specific issues need attention.
How often are themes updated?
Themes are updated when there is a meaningful reason to do so.
That may include Ghost compatibility changes, bug fixes, accessibility improvements, performance refinements, or feature updates that fit the theme’s design and scope.
Status
What do the current status labels mean?
Status labels show where a theme sits in the current maintenance cycle.
In progress means the active theme is currently being reviewed or updated. On hold may appear when work is temporarily paused but the theme remains in the current cycle.
What does Next mean?
Next means the theme is currently expected to be reviewed after the active one.
The order is not fixed and may change if a higher-priority issue, Ghost compatibility change, or support-related need comes up.
What does outside the current cycle mean?
Some themes are maintained outside the current cycle.
They are still available and supported, but are not part of the current active maintenance pass.
Stable themes
What does Stable mean?
Stable is a positive status.
It means the theme has a complete feature set, known issues have been addressed, and no active update is currently needed. Stable themes are still monitored and may return to the cycle when there is a meaningful reason to update them.
Why not keep adding new options?
A mature theme does not need new settings added just to look active.
Ghost allows up to 20 custom settings in a theme, which encourages careful choices instead of endless option growth. When a theme reaches a complete and focused set of options, adding more is often unnecessary.
Can a Stable theme still receive updates?
Yes — Stable does not mean frozen.
A stable theme may return to the update cycle when Ghost changes, compatibility issues appear, or a meaningful refinement becomes necessary.
Updates
Are updates included with a purchase?
Yes — future updates are included with your purchase.
You can download the latest version through the same purchase access used for your theme. Update details are also listed in each theme’s changelog.
Do all themes receive the same updates?
No — updates depend on the theme.
Each theme has its own structure, age, design direction, and feature set. New Ghost functionality is considered when it fits the theme without adding unnecessary complexity.
What happens when Ghost requires changes across all themes?
Major Ghost changes may reset the current cycle.
If a Ghost update affects the full collection, compatibility work takes priority over the regular order. In that case, the cycle may be reshuffled so the required changes can be applied across all affected themes.
Can I report an issue?
Yes — theme-related issues can be reported.
If you notice a bug, compatibility issue, or unexpected behavior, use the Support page. Important reports may affect maintenance priority.
